We are FINISHED!

As of 10:00 am our time (those of you in MS, 3:00 am your time), we are finished with school. We don't return until August 25. Today was Field Day where the classes compete against each other in various athletic events. The reception (K4) and kindergarten classes did their own thing, the 1st through 3rd grade classes did their own thing, and the 4th through 9th did their own thing.

The events for 4th through 9th were long-distancing running (either one or two kilometers; I'm not sure what that is in miles) and I had three of my students run two kilometers. On a side note, this was our first event, so needless to say, they were very tired after this event. Then there were sprints. I even did these with the students. I will pay for it tomorrow. There was an agility course, a football match (soccer game), relay races, long-jump, and high-jump. I attempted to do the high-jump. Not so good. I don't think my feet even left the ground. The kids loved seeing a teacher join them though and it was fun for me.

I have attached a few pictures of them in the long-jump. Their faces tell how serious they were about it.

This is Amber Elizabeth. She was not in my class, but she was in my group for Field Day.
This is Gio Agra. He is from the Philippines. Look how serious he looks.
This is Fatima Diab. Her dad owns the local 7-11. She is from Lebanon.
This is Omar James. He is from England.
This is Nicole Kwengwere. She is from Malawi.
This is Gi Weon Yang. He is from South Korea. He is an amazing origami maker.
This is Aletha Saccur. She is from Malawi. This was Amber Elizabeth's best friend in kindergarten when we were here before.
This is Nina Ayuninjam. She is from Cameroon.
And, this is Chris Mwafulira. He is from Malawi. He actually jumped the longest.

This is just a little insight into our lives here in Malawi. Thank you for all your prayers and support.

Love in Him,
LeAnne (for all 5 of us)

LeAnne, thank you for keeping us so well informed. And thank you for the great pictures. You got a lot of good action shots of the children. You're quite the photographer. :o)
